the windows being considered as dangers
Starfleet engineers on them had worked
so in transparent aluminum manufactured
they were very thick and really reinforced
.
the adjacent room and its door were armored
in combat these rooms were always evacuated
to the window and door panels can be added
so if the window was hit the ship is protected
.
as they were placed away from vital centers
all the effects of a blast will be very limited
but in other circumstances that may happen
there they can serve also as a safe haven
.
if a disaster happen the crew can hide in them
therefore a survival system they are equipped
like of a double shielding they are equipped
from the rest of the ship they can be ejected
.
as the ship damaged could explode eventually
so in case of explosion they can be expelled
these separsted rooms can only drift in reality
so shuttles and other means we prefer to them
